Thank you for the wonderful comments. I took the picture from about 18 inches or so away.
The lizard was housed in a glass enclosure. To avoid reflections I put the camera lens against the
glass and used manual focus to get the shot. I then cropped it in post processing so it would fill
the frame. The 35mm 1.8 is a great, sharp as a tack inexpensive and light little lens that I use a 
lot. I also have an 18-55mm inexpensive lens that came as a kit bundled with a lot of mid range
and lower end Nikons. The D7000 is an awesome camera and I used it so much that I eventually
wore out the shutter. Bought a D7100 to replace it. Still have my 7000 and might spend
the $300 or so to get it fixed. The D7100 is also an awesome camera and I'll probably wear it out too lol!

Fantastic shots. just curious, how close did you have to get to the lizard with a 35 mm lens?

i don't know if it's the lens or D7000 camera but the images are very good.

I really like colour images but I think that B&W can be as interesting and even more so with the right
