I agree - cutting off the top of the building
did not help the appearance.
Comment appreciated and correct!
Dale.

I really appreciate your comments - thank you!
I am learning too and I have a long way to go but that's what
makes it fun and interesting for me. I really enjoy seeing how
others view the world through photographs and I am amazed
at what beautiful images can be created.
Of all the pictures I have taken I am only really happy with very
very few of them.
The castle pictures aren't great but they are a reflection of where
I live and I like to share that with others.

Apparently oil from the hands may discolor the wood surfaces.
Before touring the castle one enters to pay admission fee and
is requested to have shoes cleaned by an automatic brush system
that will remove any dirt or foreign materials that may damage the carpets.
On another note - apparently the place is haunted but I didn't experience
any paranormal experiences.
It will be a while before I visit the castle again.

Nikonguy;
I do not over flatter you, as compared with some here I am just an amateur, what I love more of your pics is the composition rules and nice exposition. I give all of you a relief with my pics I still learning how to use the old new camera.
Your turist atraction is prity one , and has a good policy at least the allow you to made pictures inside when I was at Miami, I visite one they not allowed me to made picture inside, they saw in me a possible burglar, I most be ugly with bear and an old hat.

Mandrake - Well thought out comments!
Don't know what's in the chest - not allowed to look or touch any wood.
I know it doesn't look like much of a castle but I live in a city that you New Yorkers
would probably refer to as a quaint little village by your standards.
We don't have Hearst Castle or Winchester House and Donald Trump, as far as
I know has no interest in building here, so it's our humble little castle and we're
proud of it - even though the entrance fee is a bit of a rip off and the lighting is
pitiful (as you can probably see) for taking pictures.
Would a moat help to present it in a more regal manner?
Perhaps a drawbridge included with that.
Open to suggestions to pass along to city council.
Dale.

Very nice, Dale.
For some reason I love interiors.
They always make me feel as if I am there, more so than landscapes.

Things I've noticed:
1. The person behind the pool table has no head or hands. He would easily be snookered.

2. The pool table has a lot of balls, but there does seem to be one missing. Did you take it?

3. Never, ever leave a newspaper on the seat of a chair for an extended period. The ink will eventually bleed through and ruin the chair.

4. I simply must know what is in the chest beneath the window. Go back, take a look, and report back.

5. The wine is on a desk.... bad idea.

6. This place is called a "castle"? There are servant quarters larger than this in my neighborhood.

Mandrake

It was if your name was Robert Dunsmuir. The coal baron had this castle
built between 1887 - 1890. Dunsmuir died prior to completion and his entire
estate was left to his wife. Craigdarroch Castle is now a tourist attraction where
I live in Victoria, British Columbia and is visited by over 150,000 people a year.
The castle is listed in Wikipedia.
