<p>It all depends on the photographer's intention.<br />
If the lower portion of a scene contains more importance, then the horizon line should be at the top 1/3.<br />
Conversely, the horizon line would be placed at the lower 1/3 position if the upper area of the scene was more significant.</p>
<p>Here.. I believe that the mid point, as selected for the horizon line, is appropriate as both the upper and lower portions of the<br />
landscape share equally to give the viewer the best "feeling" or "mood" for the photo.</p>
