I like the first one a lot. I kind of makes me to imagine all the people who might sat on that bench.
In the second image there is just not enough contrast for me. Everything is almost the same tone. Those two pictures are a good example of good subject for B&W and not so good.
It is posible to make some changes to the tones in post production so, in Lightroom for example.

Thanks for the input. I do like the first one a lot. And the more I look at the second one, the more I dislike it...it looks very two dimensional to me. I will play around with it in Lightroom some more to see if I can make it POP! haha.

Nice b&w images Brian. I really like b&w photography because
it's the real deal...not hidden behind a lot of exaggerated colours
and HDR etc.
Colour is cool too but it seems that it's getting more and more cartoon like
lately by pushing the colours past the max.
Just my thoughts.
Dale.

Brian... Use the Spot Healing Brush and get rid of the chain-link fence in both of these.

Ok I will give it a try tonight when I get home and then post the results. I don't know how to use it, which requires experimentation, so I might not get good results tonight haha.

This is exactly what I appreciate about this group. Great advice, and support.

Thanks!!

I prefer black and white movies to be honest. The crispness, the bold blacks and subtle shadows...with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall...or but I digress.
