I am going to Niagara Falls June 1st and I have a Nikon D 5200 and I have a 50 mm lens. I can't wait to try that.

Thanks Silky, I did intend to bring out the background coz I wanted to give a bit of perspective on how big this falls is, if you can see the small dots on the far right of the photo those are people on a viewing bridge.

To me is not only nice, morever in such case with the Nikon line D5000 and now I see that with the 5100 Spot fuction very well ,if would used matrix all the backgroud would comes to dark, beside the timer used was fantastic it made the water silky enoght without lose detail.

Yes you are right and the exposure could have been more balanced, but during that time my thoughts were on how to get more details coz it was very dark in the back ground. Thanks for your comment and I hope you could give me more pointers especially on landscape photography.

Erwin... I see that you used Spot metering for the shot. Perhaps the required settings might have been different with Matrix metering.

Hi Deensani I used nikkon 50mm since it was very dark and my 50mm is the only lens I have with F1.8 maximum apperture
