<p>It happens almost every summer, some smokers throw the cigarettes carelessly, and they are not bothered about the value of such a beautiful bio-diversity</p>

<p>Most of the Indians use the word butterfly instead of moth. I have never seen this Atlas moth. If you have pictures of these, please post it.</p>

<p>Is the Atlas butterfly the same as the Atlas moth?</p>
<p>I have pics of the Atlas moth taken while I was visiting</p>
<p>a place called Butterfly Gardens up here in Victoria, British</p>
<p>Columbia where I live.</p>
<p>The Atlas moth only lives a few days after emerging from the</p>
<p>cocoon ( it can spend up to 5 years in that) after which it's sole</p>
<p>purpose is to mate and then die.</p>
<p>Its wingspan can be the size of a dinner plate.</p>

Among the biggest butterflies in the world, the Atlas butterfly is a visitor to  Madayipara.</p>
<p>Madayipara is changes its color in each season, I have captured these pictures in summer season.</p>
