Dale, western society has progressed that we must get rid of old things...tear them down and build anew. Unfortunately this includes old people.

When I was young I rarely listened to my Grandparents. now I would give anything to have a chat and learn about life during the wars or the depression.

I am always asking my Mom about stuff from back in the day so I can learn from her.

We really should treasure our seniors.

Brian
Rent a herd of Guinea Pigs and let them loose on those weeds!!!
We used to own the little rodents and they absolutely LOVED the
taste of fresh dandelions.
You're problems will be solved!
Dale.
The elderly woman (as stated by Mandrake) does convey the feeling
of sadness, and as I see it, the isolation and loneliness that is so common
in seniors. I know that because in my work I have dealt with many lovely older people
that just want someone to talk to and share a memory or two with.
Very sad but an unfortunate fact of life in our society.
Dale.

Unfortunately lawn chemicals aren't really legal here, so we have a bit of a dandelion problem. Odd though that none of the other neighbours have them. I dunno. In the end I sit in my basement and rarely look at the lawn.

You have painted quite the story for the old lady.

Love the orange door photo.

It tells quite a story, albeit a sad one.
Foreboding, how the angle of her coat runs parallel to her gaze.
Both downward, as undoubtedly will be the rest of her life.

The four rectangles scream her destiny.
Slanting upwards to the place she has reached
and then steadily downwards to where the pole will end her journey.
She, nevertheless, struggles forward to greet it.

I'd crop or clone just left of the brown pole.

These were taken with Fuji Provia 100 slide film using the ol' Voigtlander. First are some dandelions on my lawn. The second I am really happy with, the orange door at 3 Rebecca Street. A old lady was just walking slowly so I took her picture. I am quite pleased.
