Welcome to the forum. dustybin.

I am also a newbie in photography and start learning through Oksana's video and this forum. Hope you will get excellent support from this forum and we all learn through our comments.

Recently, I was on four months trip and had a big Hama tripod and I left it on my route, due to its heaviness. So my advise to take a handy lightweight one which can support your lens and camera. again its purely personal opinion.

Hope you get an expert advise from other fellow members.

look forward to see your pictures and have a nice and safe journey.

Regards,

hi everyone,

i am just getting started with the photography bug!!!!

i have always enjoyed taking pics and have always had canon compacts ixus, anyway i have now purchased a canon eos 60d with a 135mm lens as we are setting off on a road trip around north America next week taking in such sites as Hollywood/grand canyon/Hoover dam/death valley/las vegas/yosimiti i hope they get the fires under control by then and also san Francisco....

i have watched all Oksana's you tube videos and found them very very help full and im looking forward to being an active member of this forum,

i class myself as a beginner but i do understand the basic principles of how a camera works,i have always been a snapper rather than a set up a tripod type of guy but am coming round to using a tripod,i have a manfrotto 190xdb but i feel thats too big and heavy to be carrying around in the Arizona heat,i also have a green the pod which i think is great...would the pod be ok to take or would i need another travel type tri pod??any recommendations if so...

also have you any tips as i really do enjoy taking landscape pics would the 18-135 lens i have be ok for this trip
