Hi Mandrake. I usually don't do much in Photoshop unless I really have to. My goal is to get the image in the camera. I have a few images I did some stuff on in Elements and Photomatrix that came out okay and I'll post them soon. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against post production work, it's just that at my level I think it's better I focus (pardon the pun) on improving my camera eye and skills.

Select the crowd and then use Filters/Blur/Gaussian Blur with a radius of 1.5 to 2 pixels.
Personally, I like it the way it is.

to focus on the players? It would have been nice
to blur the background but it's still a good catch (sorry about the pun).

Hi Oksana;
Thank you for the kind words. I too would like the crowd to be less intrusive but when I took that photo last year I was pretty new to photography. I would read a chapter in a book and run out and practice. Then I'd read another chapter and practice the new stuff. A lot of the time I wouldn't get it all together in one shot. I think I'm getting better now.
The lens was the kit lens I got with the camera, a Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm f:4-5.6G ED

Great job with catching the right moment! I would prefer the background with people to be a bit more blurry so it is not distracting. But it is still a great shoot. Which lens did you use?

I didn't see any baseball photos in the sports section and thought I should do something about it. I'd have prefered Crawford had hit the ball but catching the ball before it hit the catchers glove was enough of a consolation.
