I have to agree with Mandrake this time - I don't think
you're quite as new to photography as you're telling us.
Looking forward to seeing a lot more posts from you.

Thanks Mandrake. I really appreciate the welcome and the comments. You really understood what I was going for. I don't have great equipment yet nor do I know how to photoshop yet so I will try to make up for it with composition. I've been trying to shoot all manual since I purchased the camera, but a recent get together at a friends house taught me that I might want to take a step back and use some of the auto modes (tried to take pictures of kids playing, lol, way harder than shooting still images). And your right, the picture was taken hand held. I am actually pretty new, only started about a month ago, but I tend to soak things in like a sponge and Osana's videos are so great I really felt like I learned a ton, though I know I've barely scratched the surface. Thanks again for the comment.

Welcome to our group, Jose.
We look forward to seeing your work.

I really do like this photo.
Very nice dof, lines, color, and composition.
Plus... it tells a story. Something that most photos do not accomplish.

I would normally suggest that you reduce your ISO a bit from 3200, but you are already
wide open and at quite a slow shutter speed. Good job with ambient and (i assume) hand held.
Manual mode as well - Good for you, and I'm guessing not so much of a Newbee after all.

It is nice that you indulge your wife.

Mandrake

This is my first post. I am VERY new to photography. Recently purchased my Rebel T3 with 18-55mm kit lens and I was looking for some inspiration to test out my newly acquired YouTube learned skills and the clutter on my wife's dresser spoke to me. I look forward to learning a lot through this forum.
