I was always a strong advocate that gear doesn't matter and its your photography skill what is most important, I still believe this to be absolute truth. I figured it was the right time for me to upgrade, the reason I was a bit afraid was the file size. I shoot everything raw and felt that my 3 year old mac would choke on them fat files, but to my surprise its not doing to bad. Lightroom would struggle a bit with local adjustment tool and clone stamp tool, but I usually do all this in photoshop anyways. Photoshop cs6 works like a charm without any issues so far. The details on the images are just stunning, zooming to a 100 precent view and seeing all the details after my d7000 is a treat.

The image is a first try with my usual studio set up. Edited in Lightroom and photoshop.

P.S.Now I have to figure out how to work my way back to the house after dropping loads of money on the new gear. (just joking wife melted right after she saw the photos)
