Congrats with the purchase of your 4×5 camera.

Have you tried looking on eBay for replacement bellows, I am pretty sure you can find something that will work to fix your camera.

I have two 4×5 cameras myself, I have the same problem with scanning. The scanner I have will not scan anything larger than 120 so I don’t bother scanning at all. I am just contact printing black and whites for now, but saving for Epson V850 scanner.

I don’t know what development tank you use. I recently got SP-445 Compact and am very happy with it. It uses very little chemistry 500ml like you would for a roll of 120 film. Black and white chemistry is cheap but when developing c41 or e6 don’t want to waist that chemistry. The only negative thing about this tank is it only takes 4 sheets at a time but with 4×5 I rarely shoot more in a day anyways.

Thank you! I actually have ordered a bellows replacement, and the camera is now having the bellows replaced with the one. Should have it back by the end of the week.

I bought a SP445 tank, and it works great!

Also if you can get your hand on a Polaroid back and some fuji peel apart film FP 100c I really recommend you give it a try It is a ton of fun.

I might look into that down the road, but for now I will just stick with regular film. I have been research new55 4x5 peel-apart film but it is VERY expensive.

Your cameras look awesome!

And this is one example of some tri-x its just a photo of a negative on a light table taken with an iphone

What a lovely shot!!! So rich! You should print that out and put it on the wall

I like the second image a bit more. It has a bit less contrast and more details in the shadows. Did you do anything to images in post? Is it a scan of the print of film?

I scanned the negatives in with my flatbed scanner. Since the scanner can't do 4x5 natively, I had to do the negative in strips. Then i opened the strips on Photoshop and did a photomerge to put them together.

THen I imported iinto Lightroom.

Changed the white and black points, raised the shadows. Basic stuff really.

Ugh I really hate it. I was so disappointed when I took the film out of the tank to see half of it essentially gone. I guess I could pass it off as a ghost or something.

Well here is the first shot that I actually got a result. The camera does have horrible light leaks that I am unable to repair. The bellows are just not in good shape at all. So I improvised and made the 'sock' for the bellows that prevents light from getting in.

Here is the result. I did not worry about composition or even getting the exposure right, I was just trying to get a shot without light leaks.
