Kultej, Different lenses are good for different things. As everybody said: wide angle is better for landscapes and architecture, because it will give you as much coverage as possible. But in a lot of cases it can give you more coverage then you wish and it also tend to give you a distortion. In some cases distortion works, in some it doesn't. It is possible to fix distortion in post so. The best way to go about it (since you already bought it), is to go and try it out. Go and try to shoot different things, like landscape, architecture and even some portraits and see what you like or don't like.
You can actually get very interesting photos with it, which will make viewer feel like he is almost a part of the scene.
It is a good lens to have in your bag for a certain situations, but it would not be my everyday lens so.
Also next time before buying the lens, you should think of what would be it purpose.

P.S.: Go try to shoot some pics and share with us please.

So i gather i will not be able to do much with wide angle lens except architectural or landscapes.
How can i learn how to use it properly since now that i have bought it??

Of course you can do a lot with that lens. The lens zoom from 10mm to 24mm, most of my pictures are taken from 18mm to 24mm. The only thing you have to do, is approaching more from the subject in order to get the image bigger on the screen. Try to get out and take some pictures on different subjects, buildings, portraits etc...and evaluate for yourself if you zoom to 24mm and the subject is too far, and you cannot aproach more...then you may need a 16-85mm zoom lens or maybe a 50mm prime or 35mm prime (they are cheap). See this article to understand focal lenght:

Madman, unless we want to get some creative effect on portrait I think this lens Nikkor 10-24mm f3.5/4.5 make a huge of distortion into faces and human proportions...it's like a fisheye with that 10mm even in a crop mode. If I had that lens I would use it for lanscape, like you said, interiors and enclosed spaces, but also in some architectural buildings from the exterior. BUT only from 12mm to 24mm in crop mode (like in the D90) because wider than that, everything will be so distorted like a barrel ... and it's nice to now or then to take a shot with that angle but it's so anoying.
Last month, I saw some interior photos of some rooms in a building, for real estate purposes and the guy (the photographer) took the pictures with a DX camera and a tokina lens in 12mm (it's 18mm equivalent in FX). Personally I didn't like the photos because there was lack of space, and of course that the wide angle lens creates the illusion of a larger space...but the furniture that was near the guy looks to deformed from their real proportions. For an architect the deformation that the lens produces into architectural buildings or spaces is not a good thing at all.

I know this Daniela. But there is photographers using it for portraits, i whould not use it to portraits beacause i use a 35mm for my portraits.
But nothing is "wrong" if the photographer want to use it, it is right.
And when it comes to realestate photography there is not many of them that know how to take a photo. They almost allways look distorted and deformed. (No offense to pepole working in realestate.)

Hello Kultej, here are some links you can study from after you get the correct lens. On nikon, they call "micro lens" a lens that allows to focus very near the subject. Your D90 is a DX machine (with crop sensor) so you can get a DX lens or a FX lens (does not matter). You will be well served with a AF-S DX Micro Nikkor 85mm f/3.5G ED VR or search here for another possibility:
