Hello again, Amir....
So... you have made up your mind. Good.
The 16-85 is a good mid-focal length zoom.
It should be a great lens for most of your needs and
will be the one most used, I am sure.

Good luck with it... and post what it delivers.

I have a Nikon D7000 and I'm wondering what lens to buy: Nikon 18-200mm or 16-85MM
Thank you for your help.
I have lenses :18-55MM and 55-200MM Lens and Lens 50MM.

What do you want to photograph? Do you need to go wider or do you want a more versatile lens and sell your 18-55, and 55-200?
If you want a more versatile lens, to travel, and walkarround with more zoom range, with no need to change lenses, go for the 18-200...and sell yours.
If you need to capture something more large like a bulding and you are unable to frame it in your 18-55, then instead of the 16-85 I'll suggest you the:
_ tokina 12-24 f/4 (really wider for buldings and lanscapes) or
_ nikkor 12-24 f/4 (constant f/4 in all the zoom range)
_ nikkor 16-35 f/4 (it's a f/4 constant lens and also goes with FX bodies, it's a good lens investing in the future).
In this case, of chosing a wide angle lens, I suggest you keep the 55-200 for now and of course your prime 50mm.

Cheers.

Hello
Thanks for the recommendations. I purchased a Nikon Lens 16-85 MM.
In addition I have a 55-200MM lens. I am satisfied and will post photos on the site.
Sincerely

Hi biluam
I have Nikon D7000 and nikon 18-200mm VRII . I also have 35mm Nikon f1.8
I had an issue with 18-200mm - auto focus problem and repaired within a week time by nikon service center. I assume my case was very isolated and otherwise this lens is very good for one in all. Specially for travelling, where you do not want to take many lens. Though this lens is very heavy, I like it.

I think buying lens is purely personal decision on what purpose you are using . Since you have 18-55mm and 55-200, you may consider buying a macro lens and super telephoto lens - if required

regards,

Check out my profile, I have listed the Lenses I have at the moment.
To this date I am having no problems with any of them. As I am only an amateur I have no need
of the really pricy lenses (prime). I seem to get some very nice shots out of them.
I actually joined a Camera club this year and have won 2 prizes from the monthly competitions held there. They have quite a few members, so for me, it was quite an achievement.
To be honest I did well due to "The Bosses" Lessons and lots and lots and lots of practice practice and more practice ... LOL

I have the 18-55 and the 55-300.
Is there any reason to go with the 18-200 other than the one lens walk-around thing?

I've heard that your ONLY lens for the 7000 is the 35mm 1.8?
Maybe now is the time to broaden the view.
