By the way Oksana - if you do go back again next year and get an extra bag I'll be happy to send you my
address and will even pay for shipping costs lol!

I've been thinking about it. Next time, I'll try my best to get as many bags as I can. You are definitely next on the list. You have been great addition to our community as well!

Thanks everybody for the positive comments! I constantly try to learn and improve
and your comments are always welcome and believe me they are also taken to heart
and valued. We do have times here when the ocean is incredibly calm (usually before sun up
in the cold hours of the early morning unfortunately lol) Taking long exposures also has a "calming
effect" on water that's a little choppy.
Mandarake you old dog! You are now the proud owner of a goodies bag compliments of Oksana.
She made the right choice and you deserve the gift as you have definitely been a huge contributor
and friend to all of us here at easy exposure!!!
Hope you never leave the forum because it sure wouldn't be the same without you (and I think I speak
for everybody on that). Enjoy my friend and hope you find use for all the cool items!
By the way Oksana - if you do go back again next year and get an extra bag I'll be happy to send you my
address and will even pay for shipping costs lol!

Nice set of images, Dale. I also like #4 the most. I think the main reason is that there is some space negative space on top and bottom of the photo, unlike for example on #3 there subjects are touching the edges of the photo. I also love the colors of #2. The water on those pics looks so still!

You're absolutely right Mandrake - 24mp is definitely enough resolution. I was referring to
the small image size for posting @ 72dpi. Too many hours at work lately so I'll rack it up
to sleep deprivation and a temporary lack of brain properly functioning. I have to admit that
I really do enjoy taking long exposure night shots because the images produced can be pretty
remarkable. The colours in the shots above have been enhanced (a little) but looking at the scenes
as I was taking the pictures looked nothing like what came up on my computer screen and that's what
really blows me away - the light gathering and spectrum of colours that are invisible when you are standing
there hoping for a decent image to be produced. That's what makes getting an ND filter so important. You can
take long exposures in bright sunlight and get results that are really interesting.
mscharff - took the shots in raw neutral and converted to florescent setting in Lr. That warmed up the images and
brought out the hidden colours more. The top picture was taken from the Delta hotel looking across the harbour to
our Parliament Buildings. The wharf in the foreground is one of the many stops our harbour ferries make to shuttle
tourists and locals around. They only hold about a dozen or so people and do a great business all year long.
I have an old pic of one of the boats @ Fisherman's Wharf so I'll post it below.
Not sure what you mean by low resolution.
Isn't 24.1 megapixels enough for you or.. were they heavily cropped?
Love the sky in the second photo.
