About post processing...  Most say it's better if you shoot in RAW, but you really do not have to.   I've processed hundreds of JPEG images with great success.  What software do you have?  Photoshop is much too expensive and really not necessary.  If I were you I'd go with Lightroom and Photoshop Elements.  Adobe offers free trials for both.

Good news,... so far I've been shooting with my bridge camera.. (Canon SX50 hs)..and I bought my first DSLR couple of days back!!

It's an entry level ofcoz..Nikon D5100.. got lot in mind... Cool

will post my work soon.

Somewhat small flower ... (~ 2 cm) ... color was too awesome to ignore...

no post processing done...
