It is where I grew up. I showed my daughter the farm I grew up on, then on the way back to the highway found Mr Turtle taking a break.

A stampede of turtles??? Well herd is good. But the technical term is a bale of turtles.

This turtle is a Western Painted Turtle.
It is so named for obvious reasons.
