Thanks for the comment - I got lucky and my lens co-operated and
did a good job of quick focus to let me save this shot.
I could have probably posted as I shot it if I was using a longer lens
but @35mm and the geese quite high up I felt that a little cropping
would clean the shot up and make the birds appear larger.
And like you, I too almost always crop the photo to some degree if
it produces a more pleasant image.

Unfortunately the pic is slightly cropped due to a building
on the left that distracted from what I wanted the shot to
look like.
I didn't see them until they were almost directly overhead so
I just took a chance to see if I could get anything useable.
Thanks for the input. Tell everyone you know to have a goose
dinner at least once a week - preferably a CANADIAN goose dinner!
