Yes, the image was cropped, but only to a 1:1 ratio.  Any more would have sacrificed detail.
At a focal length of 200mm a 1:1 crop would be smaller, but certainly acceptable for web use.  Try it and see.
(Nikon DX cameras have a 1.5 crop factor.)

Long Island had quite a storm last night.
Me... not so bad, but a town a few miles east received over 11 inches.
