I really never cared for selective color.
What's the point? .... To make an object stand out from the rest of the photo?
I'd rather find other, more natural, ways.

It can create a cool effect and when I've attempted it I always
use Lightroom to get the results I'm looking for. I do know that
certain cameras are capable of this effect but mine isn't so I use Lightroom.

easyexposure said

This effect is called selective color. There are some cameras that are now able to do selective coloring in-camera. I believe Nikon D3200, D5100, D5200 and bunch of point an shoot cameras.

But I would rather do it in post production - In Lightroom or Photoshop. I will create a video about this.

My Canon Powershot SX50 can do it...it can also do colour swaps as well, where you select one colour and substitute it for another one. Can have lots of fun with that.
