Thank you for those comments - appreciate them.<br />
The mushroom shot was easy. I kneeled down and<br />
framed it in the viewfinder and set to: f.l.of 220 f8 @ 1/500th.<br />
Even at f8 by taking the pic at a focal length of 220mm the<br />
background softened pretty well.<br />
The tree is near my balcony and the moon seemed to be in<br />
the right place at the right time to make an interesting shot.<br />
The sky was a deep color too so it worked out OK.<br />

I was using a 70-300mm telephoto with a Canon Rebel.<br />
