Thanks Sam
I figure If I can take decent pictures, hell,
anybody can!!!
Always remember you were born with
the best lenses so use them first and then
apply what you see to the expensive one
on your camera.
Usually works for me.

Mandrake - I agree that it would have been nice if Nikon
had replaced lens, but it is their discretion to repair if
possible.
Anyways, it's been "in the shop" for nearly 5 weeks so
hopefully I'll get some good news soon.
Trying to use the old Canon Rebel but she's tired and doesn't
always want to co-operate lol.

Silky... You can see all of the camera information and settings by saving the image, right clicking on it, choosing "properties" and then "details".

Dale... That's terrible about the lens... one would have thought that Nikon would have replaced it rather than make you wait for a repair.

Hi Silky
Top pic done with a Canon Rebel xsi using 70-300mm telephoto
and bottom pic done using my Nikon d7000 and a 35mm prime lens
By the way I LOVE my Nikon but the lens will not autofocus so I have
been without it now for over a month while Nikon does necessary repairs.

Post processing depends on how the pic looks out of the camera.
I would be lying if I said I didn't do some amount of post processing
on nearly every picture. The top pic was cleaned up a little and the
color was strengthened along with some cropping. The poppy was
nearly left alone apart from a little cropping and, I think minor hilighting.
It was so brightly backlit that I really didn't have to do much at all to that one.
I will try and find the originals but I have so many pics and I do delete a lot
of the old stuff that I have re-done in post processing. Dale

Dale.... I meant to ask, but forgot.... (a senior moment).... Are there dramatic differences between the out of camera and final due to Lightroom post processing? If so, I'd love to see the original of one. Thanks.
