Thanks for posting Mandrake! Yes, this is very useful for macro. I was thinking to make a tutorial on this. I was just so busy lately. But It is ok! I am getting back on track!

This post will show an example of “Focus Stacking” which I was able to accomplish with a free down-loadable program called “CombineZP”. There are several programs, including the full version of Photoshop, which will do this.

It would probably be best to google focus stacking if you are not familiar with what it is and the purposes that it serves.

Click on the image below and then cliick on the right ">" symbol to see the remaining images in the set. The first six differ only by the portion of the subject remote control that was in focus. The last is the result of the program's processed combined image.

All photos were taken at 1/20 sec., f/5.6, ISO-200, 35mm 1.8 prime lens, tripod mounted, timed release.
Focusing was done in Magnified Live View using Manual Focus.
The six points of focus were Cablevision, SWAP, 5, DVR, Guide, and the blue "B" button.

Focus stacking is particularly useful for Macro Photography, when it is often impossible to get the entire subject in focus.
