<p>Below are the different options to get started on macro photography.</p>
<p>1. use close up filters - these are essentially magnifying glasses . cheapest but not necessarily the best. can't get to 1:1 macro.</p>
<p>2. Buy an adapter that will allow you to reverse fit your lens allowing you to focus very close</p>
<p>3. Use an extension tube or a set of tubes to reduce your minimum focusing distance.</p>
<p>4. Buy a dedicated macro lens.</p>
<p>option 4 will probably give you the best results, but then the hollow extension tubes with full auto aperture adjustment costs only US$ 160 and is a cost effective option to get into macro photography.</p>

I could borrow the macro lens of my brother in law (Tamron 90mm). This pleased me so much that I have purchased AF-s. Nikon 85mm. </p>
