Thanks, James. I appreciate the reply.

I have the beta of Lightroom 5 and the histogram is the same.

I also use Elements, the 10 version. Great program.

Hi Mandrake. Unfortunately, it looks like the Luminosity histogram view is not an option in Lightroom (I have v4.4). Surprisingly, it is available in Photoshop Elements 11 (which costs much less than Lightroom) and in GIMP 2.8 (which of course is free). Go figure.

Maybe Lightroom 5 will bring this feature or perhaps a plugin will be written for it. Curious decision-making on Adobe's part.

While digging, I found this tutorial about Lightroom's histogram. Figured it wouldn't hurt to pass it along. A few good tidbits in there...

James

Does anyone know how to view only a Luminous graph in the histogram of Lightroom
so that the RGB graphs are eliminated?

The graph would be as seen in camera playback mode and as in the Photoshop Levels graph.

At first I thought the grey area of the graph would represent the luminous graph, but then discovered that
the grey shows where Red, Green and Blue values overlap.

I think you can do this by going to B&W, but that makes adjustments on a color photo very difficult.

Thanks for any help on this. Google has failed me.
