Ok, I think I understand.. You are talking about the angle of the monitor of your pc or laptop.
I've never seen any discussion on this, but my guess would be to look at the screen straight on at a 90 degree
angle to it's surface.

I'd avoid any reflections from lamps or windows.

It would be best to calibrate the monitor, something I've never done.

Addendum: I did find this discussion on the topic.
When you say "viewing them in PCs / laptops etc" do you mean when tethering to the camera
before the shot or viewing them on the pc/laptop after uploading them to the computer?

If after upload, then what program are you viewing them in?

Mandrake,

I mean after uploading to a PC.. laptop lets say...

I use picasa to view and to get the correct exposure is there any tilting angle ? coz

angle of the LCD greatly influence how it looks in the end..

Dear All,

Histograms and exposure indicators etc. always come to assist us when meeting the expected exposure.

However, when viewing them in PCs / laptops etc. what would be the correct angle of view/tilt angle and the level of brightness/contrast

so that my photos do not look different at different situations ?

When editing and sharing photos both the original and edited photo to submit. The changes we have implemented are then screened for others. Everyone editing a photo to his own understanding. Instructive and perhaps surprising.

Here are my thoughts, scattered as they are:

If a person adamantly does not want his/her photos to be edited in any way, just say so.

But I think the best policy would be to grant permission. As in 'Here is a picture I did, how do I do this effect' and let the other members edit it to provide examples, etc.

This is such a rich learning environment here, where we can all help each other, and sometimes the best way to do so is to edit an image to demonstrate how something will look when certain adjustments are made.

Every week or so we can have 1 image (mine or anybody's, who want to submit one) for editing. It would be so much fun to see how different people can interpret the same image.

I need to figure out the way how you can submit and download larger files. Then after edit, you can post them resized on the forum in Edit section. What do you think about that?

Any progress with this, Oksana?
I think it would be a really interesting exercise.

I dont agree in editing other members photos. Even if they are watermarked...that means the photo is edited as it is and not with other person editing authorship. So, if someone ASK to edit their photos for learning proposes ok. If that person DONT ASK for other person to edit their photo...I don't see any point for that person to do that on his own free will.

I will not post any phrase telling "please don't edit my photo" but if someone wants to edit it, they need to ASK me first, even for non comercial use. That is my rule, independent of the voting results.

I completely agree and there is no wiggle room on this.

I'm on a life long learning quest to see how I can improve my photographic

skills. I welcome constructive criticism and appreciate

others opinions about my efforts. If someone wants to alter an image I have

posted go ahead as I have the original. The objection would be to alter an image

to do this would be in severe violation of the law as far as I'm concerned.

I've been a member of easyexposure for quite some time now and I have had the
