I never use my laptop monitor to edit photos, (isn't high enough quality and is inconsistent anytime you move.) I use a dedicated editing monitor I run the laptop on through an HDMI cable. If a dedicated monitor is out of your price range try this, it will help with consistency.

Ok, I think I understand.. You are talking about the angle of the monitor of your pc or laptop.
I've never seen any discussion on this, but my guess would be to look at the screen straight on at a 90 degree
angle to it's surface.

I'd avoid any reflections from lamps or windows.

It would be best to calibrate the monitor, something I've never done.

Addendum: I did find this discussion on the topic.

Mandrake said
When you say "viewing them in PCs / laptops etc" do you mean when tethering to the camera
before the shot or viewing them on the pc/laptop after uploading them to the computer?

If after upload, then what program are you viewing them in?

Mandrake,

I mean after uploading to a PC.. laptop lets say...

I use picasa to view and to get the correct exposure is there any tilting angle ? coz

angle of the LCD greatly influence how it looks in the end..

Dear All,

Histograms and exposure indicators etc. always come to assist us when meeting the expected exposure.

However, when viewing them in PCs / laptops etc. what would be the correct angle of view/tilt angle and the level of brightness/contrast

so that my photos do not look different at different situations ?

Regards,

Praveen.
