I think you can have two levels of darkness based on two light sources of different intensities...

Also.. there is actually a real shadow which is outside of everything and extends down to the boy's feet.

Guys, Really sorry for misleading , its real shadow of my son's hands. its a dark room, only picture(spot) lights available in this room. the spot light make the sharp shadows in this shot.

I'm saying it's a drawing on the wall.
The inner portions of the arms on the wall drawing are a lighter shade compared to the rest of the arms.
This would not be the case if it was a real shadow.

Very interesting image. I am not exactly sure what is going on. It looks like shadows at the first glance, but I you look closer they don't match 100%. Are those hands drawings on the wall?
