This is sooo cute! I like the subject matter a lot. The hat and her face expression. Did you Photoshoped the black background into the picture. The reason I know it is that your forgot to get rid of things right behind her. I can see something right where her braids are. Also you might want to work on smoothing out the edges a bit more. Also your focus is more on the hat and I would prefer to have it on her eyes. Which focus option did you use in your camera? If you had it on AF-A (AF auto), very often camera would choose what ever is closer to it and this is not what you always want. It still a good picture, I just want to give you some pointers on how you can improve.
